      The Hole In The Wall
A Grade II listed building in Barnard Castle. The building dates back to the Century and is recorded as being a meeting place for Methodists, including visits from John Wesley.

When our client acquired the property it was in neglect and required substantial renovation including some under-pinning. The middle link of the building was originally single storey.

We converted the building into a restaurant with office and flat for the operator. Our design included raising the link of the building and creating a new glazed entrance. This design won a local conservation award.

Some years later we converted the building into private flats for a housing association.

Mickleton 2
This building was originally a workshop in the town of Staindrop. Situated on a corner plot, the building fronting the high street was converted and adapted into four dwellings. To the rear a row of new terraced dwellings was constructed using traditional materials sensitively chosen to blend with the existing building and character of the area.
